Naples Festival
Dear Friends,
This is a last-minute notice, but the plans are last-minute, too.
Next week, San Domenico restaurant, at 240 Central Park South in Manhattan, is having a grand Neapolitan festival.
There will be a gala dinner and auction, hosted by me, on Wednesday night (January 16th) at 7:30 p.m.. The price of $160 includes a six-course Neapolitan meal prepared by guest chefs direct from some of my favorite restaurants in Naples, wines from Campania, an autographed copy of my book "Naples At Table," tax, and gratuity.
The restaurant will continue the festival with guest chefs preparing à la carte dinners and a $60 tasting menu from January 17th through January 27th.
The participating restaurants from Naples include: La Tavola del Re, Napoli Mia, Caruso from Albergo Vesuvio, Ciro a Santa Brigida, and Mimi alla Ferrovia.
In addition, and perhaps of most interest to most of you, I will be doing two Neapolitan seminar-tastings at Buon Italia, the Italian food market in the Chelsea Market, 79 Ninth Avenue (between 15th & 16th Streets). You will be able to discuss and sample the ingredients that most define Neapolitan cuisine, as well as some hallmark dishes. Copies of "Naples at Table" will be available for sale and I will be happy to sign them for you, too.
For more information about the dinners at San Domenico, or reservations, call the restaurant at: (212) 265-5959.
For reservations for the seminar-tastings at Buon Italia, call the market at (212) 633-9090. Space is limited.
