Index Update & Spring Delicacies
Many recipes and wine buys have been filed in the Maven's Diary section of The Food Maven since last December, which was the last time the Maven's Index was updated. So I'm pleased to announce that the index is now complete through the end of March. Please use it. By scrolling through the index, you'll see how many hundreds of recipes are on the website.
I actually get many requests for recipes that are already here. And I get questions about how to find recipes. I was hoping The Maven's Index would be a help. It lists everything on thefoodmaven.com site and is easy to use. It is organized like the index of any cookbook. You can look up an ingredient or a recipe title, all of which are in strict alphabetical order. Here's the difference between a website and a book: On a website, you just click on what you would like to read and the item comes up on your screen.
And there's always the "search engine," which is the little empty box at the top of the red navigation bar on the left side of every page. Put a word or phrase in the search box. Click. All references to that word or phrase will come up on the screen. Find the reference most likely to have what you want, then click on that.
I scanned the index yesterday to see what recipes I had for asparagus and artichokes, both coming into season now. Here's what I found:
Neapolitan Stuffed Artichokes
Asparagus Milanese
Roasted Asparagus
Stewed Rhubarb
I suppose I should post a few more ideas for these seasonal delicacies. Like where's my recipe for marinated baby artichokes, asparagus with ham and macaroni, and that refreshing strawberry-rhubarb compote I made so much last year? I have to rummage through my files.
